Arrest warrants have been issued for two police officers wanted in connection with an armed robbery on a Kasikorn Bank cash delivery van in Sing Buri.

Pol Gen Pansiri Prapawat, a deputy national police chief, said yesterday a court has approved arrest warrants for Pol Col Pichit Kromprasit, superintendent of Sai Ngam police station in Kamphaeng Phet province, and Pol Sgt Narai Thippreechathorn, who serves at Nakhon Sawan police headquarters.

The superintendent has been charged with masterminding a 2-million-baht van heist at Inburi Market, in Sing Buri, in March.

Pol Sgt Narai faces charges of supplying weapons _ AK47 rifles _ to the three robbers, all of whom have been arrested. The robbers told the authorities about the police officers' involvement in the heist.

Police spokesman Pol Maj Gen Piya Uthayo said authorities have evidence implicating Pol Col Pichit including a photo placing him near the crime scene and phone records that show he contacted the thieves on the day of the robbery.

Pol Maj Gen Piya said the two officers were suspended from duty while an investigation team looked into their alleged crimes.
